1975 stunning John Alden Malabar 13 66ft classic yacht now available exclusively with DBY Boat Sales.
Desiderata is a classic 66-foot ketch designed by John Alden and personally owned by him in the beginning of her life. A sister ship to Malabar XIII, she is simply eye catching and stunning in every regard. Ketch rigged for ease of sail handling and strong performance.
She was built with romance and racing in mind, so she performs exceptionally well under sail. Her history is extensive and shows she is a performance classic cruiser when required.
The yacht is currently owned by a professional couple that have cruised, 2 handed, sailing her from Mauritius to South Africa and over to Brazil, then to the Caribbean and over to the Med, back across tha Atlantic and finally to Australia over 13 years.
A major refit was done in 2013 and the engine was removed and fully rebuilt in 2015.
